Indy’s Satchel: The Rothko Vintage M-51 Engineers Bag
by Craig

Admit it, you loved Indiana Jones as much as I did as kid. You wanted the leather jacket, the khakis, the boots and the hat – oh the hat. But while I never had a practical use for a whip, I always loved Indy’s bag. His was an old WWII Mark VII gas mask bag, which looked pretty cool, but doesn’t do a lot for the work-a-day commuter.
Still, a boy can dream and dreaming was what I was doing while cruising Amazon the other day and came across the Rothko Vintage M-51 Engineers Bag. While not an exact match of Indy’s trusty pouch, this canvas bag serves a bit more practical purpose. Some cube-dweller-friendly features include:
- Large main compartment for your daily essentials (even your laptop will fit
- Large back document compartment with 34” zipper opening
- Several pouches, compartments and pen holders
- Large size plastic covered document sleeve
- Cell phone pouch
Perfect for the guy like me who commutes to work, carries a computer and spends at least a little bit of time each week dreaming of fending off Nazis and discovering precious artifacts.
